Nasty and nice!

Had a nasty shock today.... a letter from the taxman telling me I hadn't submitted my tax form and was fined £100. Now as far as I was concerned I'd paid it and had proof. I'd opted this year to file online as up until now I'd always done it on paper, but here's the thing. My assessment hadn't been submitted even though I had a submission reference number I hadn't had confirmation so technically it hadn't been filed. Let me ask you this Mr Taxman "If I hadn't submitted my form how would I have known what I needed to pay and why would I have gone the very same day and paid it?" ....and yes you did receive it because when I phoned you up you told me that I had paid it but I was being fined because I hadn't submitted my tax return. Which takes me back to the start.....as far as I was concerned I'd got a submission reference....
Sorry for the rant, I've had a headache all day.
Here's the nice bit. Look at these jolly little socks I bought for a soon to arrive babe and also this lovely little denim pinafore dress I found it is an Escada dress, real quality, imagine finding it in a charity shop.

Someone watching over me.

Sometimes I wonder what Milly does when she goes out in the early hours.
It certainly tires her out for the rest of the day. It's a good job she has some attentive friends

CUT + PASTE

I made this bunting last week for Valentine's day. There's nothing I like better than cutting paper.......
My sister and I used to spend hours playing with paper cutout dolls....... I wish I'd kept them.

It feels like Spring :)

Some flowers are brightening up my home.
There has been warm sun in the last few days.......look what it was like a few weeks ago!

Birthday :)

It was my birthday last week and I chose as a birthday treat a trip to Birmingham to go and see an very inspiring exhibition called Lost in Lace The window display at Harvey Nic's with a lace Paul Smith jacket could easily have been part of the exhibition too. We had a nice coffee and panini in a glass built Costa cafe.

Old phone photos

I got a new phone last week and when I was putting the old phone to rest I discovered some forgotten photographs on it - a shadow puppet workshop I did with an after school club, handbags from a graduate show - sorry can't remember the artist, Milly the cat and lastly Mr D's cat Pedro, such a lovable character and sadly no longer with us.
