My accessories, wedding favours, table decorations and buttonholes

Wedding aftermath

Well it is a week since "the wedding" My sister and parents arrived on the Thursday to help with preparations. There was alot to do - the dress needed finishing, cupcakes to be baked, wedding favours finished off, table decorations decided on and hats created. My sister and I went to bed at 4.30am on Friday morning and 2am on Saturday morning. Everything got done - mum and I were hemming the dress at midnight on Friday as my sister was in the kitchen - where she had been all afternoon, baking, making trifles and supplying the workforce with regular cups of tea.
The bridesmaids arrived on Friday evening and were given tasks to do. It was a lovely atmosphere with everyone working away and chatting. Our family is so widespread that we rarely all get together in one place. Every time it happens (special birthdays, anniversaries and weddings ) we say we must do it more often.

We have a wedding

Two weeks today my daughter gets married. There is still much to do I have a huge list which is slowly getting ticked off.... finish
making wedding dress being the main one, bake and decorate, the cake, make the favours, decide on table decorations and sort out what I'm wearing being the other minor details. On the positive side the church, bridesmaids, best man, cars, flowers, hair, music, photographer/s and reception, guest list, honeymoon and wedding present list are all done so I feel not too bad. I find it hard to gert motivated by a long deadline being hopeless at descisions and if I had got my outfit months ago I would be fed up looking at it by now and have rushed out to buy another one......Although I did buy the boots in September!!!!

Hello, welcome....

I resolved this year to start a blog. How hard can it be??? Well, I have spent all evening playing around, downloaded a new browser as safari wouldn't upload my images and here we go. It feels a bit like learning to ride a bike or learning how to swim (two things I have not properly mastered), a bit wobbly and slightly out of control but very, very exciting.
I hope to learn lots, be more creative, inspire and be inspired and share and participate in blog world instead of merely being a voyeur
