A short break

We went away for a few days.
We thinned out some plants from the garden and transported them 250 miles down the A38 to my daughter's "new house garden" which typically is grassed all over up to the fence!!! I wonder why builders do this, after all you can't mow along a fence.
So it was a bit of a working holiday but we did manage to fit in some sightseeing, a visit to some new charity shops a very good organic cafe/farm shop and a National Trust property. Unfortunately although I took some before garden photos I forgot to take some after we had finished digging and planting.

I love seaside bric a brac.

Typical bank holiday weather

It's been raining cats and dogs today and I had wanted to go in the garden!!!

I have been rearranging a space for my work area - moving furniture up and down stairs, it's not finished yet I want to put a shelf and the bulletin board up that I bought last week.I am also making a cushion out of an old pillow and some fabric from my vintage fabric collection. I spent far too much time choosing which fabric to use and wether to make a patchwork cushion or not.

Best time of the day

Easter

Wishing you a Happy Easter

Yellows

and blues....

Poatoes

Shallots

Things are really starting to grow faster now and all sorts of things have appeared almost overnight. I can't wait to get this weekend and start planting things out and sowing more seeds. But I'm not sure that the weather is going to be good.

Look what came yesterday

I ordered a drum carder and a drop spindle, motivated by the book I blogged about last month , "Intertwined" and the fact that in a few months I should have a supply of Jacob's sheep fleeces to play with after Mr D has sheared his flock.

Greenish day

On Monday I bought these things - 2 recycled yarn T shirts from Muji, a can crusher for recyling Milly's cat food tins more efficiently and a noticeboard made from recycled paper.

welldressing workshop

Preparation of the welldressing

We made the welldressing today with 56 children from Year 5. It was a very busy day and we all had to work very hard to finish it by the end of the school day. The children did an excellent job as you can see.
