How many?

How many swallows does it take to make a summer? and how many council men does it take to put up a welldressing?

Ripley Welldressing

Four of us spent all last week ( except Friday ) working on this. The theme we were asked do was, Barnes Wallace - inventor of the bouncing bomb, who apparently was born in Ripley.

Busy week

I had a day off from the welldressing at Ripley to do a small welldressing in a day at a wildlife event in Beeston. It was a challenge to make sure we completed it as it is a very time consuming proccess. To enable this to happen, after working at Ripley I came home and filled the frame with clay, smoothed the surface flat and laid the design on the surface then transferred it onto the clay by pricking it through with a needle, then I marked out the design with peppercorns, finally at 2 o'clock in the morning I finished ready to take it to Beeston.
We had a very good day, the weather was hot and we had lots of help from some very enthusiastic children and managed to finish by the end of the event
