Snow, snow, quick, slip snow!

This morning I was supposed to be taking part in a walk  - 10,000 steps finishing with a "cream tea"at the Co op store in the centre of town. However due to the sudden change in weather it was postponed till a later date.
After finishing the walk/ cream tea, my colleague and I were to have "hot footed up to the Arboretum Park for a meeting, but guess what....... it was cancelled.
So instead I can show you some pretty things on my windowsills and a "peep" in a box I made for a family activity this Saturday.

After making it I remembered the outside should have been White rabbit and Wonderland inspired!!!!

Mothering Sunday

I have had these lovely flowers and gifts for Mother's Day.....and the sun looks like it is coming out now after the rain so we are thinking of going out for a walk. We might even find a nice coffee stop. PS I have been eyeing up the cute little bag for some time with the thought of using it at my friends wedding next month.

Spring clean

Last weekend the weather was lovely and warm and I managed to spend some of the time outside tidying up in the garden and also the first outdoor coffee this year......although i did sit in the greenhouse.
Oh and can you see my spring clean hasn't got round to tackling the glass in the greenhouse, hence the spotty effect on my white cup!

CUT + PASTE

I made this bunting last week for Valentine's day. There's nothing I like better than cutting paper.......
My sister and I used to spend hours playing with paper cutout dolls....... I wish I'd kept them.

It feels like Spring :)

Some flowers are brightening up my home.
There has been warm sun in the last few days.......look what it was like a few weeks ago!

  

Due to the mild winter and the growing of lettuces in a big old tin bath in my greenhouse I was able to pick this nice assortment of leaves the other day. I am a big fan of Alys Fowler and at the moment am reading her book. " The Thrifty Forager" It has the best introduction. Which I'm sure you'll agree that in these times of austerity needs must I think!

"You've come back for seconds and had it the following day, so I guess you've liked some of it. Actually I think by now you must know that spinach is a pretty loose term in our kitchen. I hope you don't mind but I don't intend to start growing it anytime soon lots of love A"

Lazy as a cat!!

I've been as lazy as a cat!!!
When you have your feet up you can still look at paint charts though and make plans.

Hope 2011 is as sweet as these flowers smell. I was expecting them to be white, but no matter, their scent is wafting throughout the house and reminding us that Spring is not very far away:)

I made these 9 little boxes to fit into this storage unit that sits on my desk. I am undecided how to decorate them to finish off. I might just paint them white. What would you do I wonder?

Christmas dinner

On Christmas eve, late evening, I decided to move the furniture around in the dining room. The table is usually at the other end of the room near the back door, which can feel rather cold.
What a surprise when everyone came downstairs in the morning!!!!

Another surprise this recipe for our Christmas pudding.
