Head in the Clouds

Number 2 son is off to China for 10 days. Flying to Beijing first. I think he arrives there tomorrow morning.
A 10 hour flight...... far too long to have your head in the clouds for my liking.
Alternatively these are the only clouds I wouldn't mind seeing at close quarters.

Birthday :)

It was my birthday last week and I chose as a birthday treat a trip to Birmingham to go and see an very inspiring exhibition called Lost in Lace The window display at Harvey Nic's with a lace Paul Smith jacket could easily have been part of the exhibition too. We had a nice coffee and panini in a glass built Costa cafe.

Urban walk

We went for a walk around this area of Nottingham called "The Park Estate". It is a very nice area with lovely houses and wide avenues and crescents. There are some more modern houses which are very well designed and sit well next to the existing architecture. These are a few resource photos I took for a workshop I am doing soon with an after school club. We are working with an architect on a design project. I am looking forward to it

hmmmm!!!

Probably still got to fiddle about with it but looking more to my liking.

whew!!!!!!!

I am not a very technical minded person, when I first set up this blog I made a fairly basic heading as I was keen to get blogging. It was ok for a while but then as you do I got fed up with the look of it but had not had the time to do much about it. However when me and the weather were a bit under par at the beginning of the week I spent a huge amount of time playing around in photoshop to make a new heading. I wish photoshop had exsisted when I was working in graphic design I just love it !!!!!!!
Hope you have a good weekend. I am working in the morning but then I'm going to see the Tissington welldressings and also visit some of the artists showing work here

Well dressing design approved....

I finally finished the design for the well dressing I am doing in a couple of weeks at the Honey bee Festival. I don't do so much illustration anymore and find it a bit of a struggle to "get my hand in" The design had to reflect the theme of the festival and I was going to offer 2 designs to choose from, but in the end I only had time to do one , which luckily was well recieved. I scanned it into Photoshop so I can start playing around with different colours. See my earlier posts 31st March and 1st April if you want to know a bit more about welldressing and what it involves
