Birthday Tea Party

I wore red, white and blue. I baked a plate of "Maid of Honour cakes. There was a wonderful spread at the party, the birthday girl is in the white dress.

Cakes and bunting

Had the urge to make bunting
                                                and bake royal cakes...................

Going with my friend Jill to a birthday tea party this afternoon, the theme is red white and blue and everyone has to bring a plate of something. I've been looking through some 1950's recipe books.

Secondhand treasure

clothes swap coat, charity shop scarf and skirt, own knitted wrist warmers
Last week I had some good charity shop finds - the gold shoes and skirt were on the "sale rack", yes it seems charity shops have sales too £1 each!! I can't imagine where I would wear those shoes but they look amazing. My sister does Argentinian tango and I suppose I had her in mind as a suitable recipient. The skirt is made by "Wealth of Nations"(don't know if this label still exists) beautifully made with fuschia pink silk lining. I'm undecided whether to shorten the skirt as knee length is my preference at the moment.
I dragged (not that she needed much persuading) my friend Jill to a clothes swap. I got this lovely coat which has immediately become a staple part of my wardrobe and Jill got a 70's cheesecloth maxi dress.
We swapped 2 skirts  - hope they have gone to enthusiastic wearers too.
